Pages at rear are loose and creased with noticeable foxing, tanning and handling marks throughout. Noticeable cracking, rubbing and scuffing along spine with loss of leather at ends. Attempted cloth repair along spine edge with significant erosion to corners. Noticeable rubbing, scuffing and wear along edges and over surfaces with marking and warping to boards.

Laut Bartsch II, 67 u. 68 die Blätter 3 und 4 aus eine sechs Grafiken umfassenden Serie: "Les deux allèes" (sauberes Blatt, oberer Rand mit ca. 7 mm. Einriss) und "L'homme et la femme sur le monticule" (etwas braunfleckig, verso mit Bleistiftanmerkung und kl. Sammlerstempeln).- "Anthonie Waterlo, Maler und Radirer, wurde als Sohn Caspar Waterlo's und seiner Gattin Magdalena Vaillant zu flämische-Ryssel (-Lille) im J. 1609 oder 1610 geboren [.] Die Motive für seine Landschaften entnahm er der Gegend von Amsterdam und von Utrecht, doch muß er noch weiter im Lande herumgekommen sein, da sich auch bergige Landschaften in seinem radirten Werk finden. An excellent crisp copy with good margins and with the 19th century armorial bookplate of Sir John Whitefoord Mackenzie.> First edition: 1st issue with 'alwaies' on p.25, line 1. STC 7540. 'His views on the constitution were expounded at length in his celebrated judgment in Calvin's Case> (1608), which determined that persons born in Scotland after the accession of James were not aliens in England: there was one king, one allegiance. The speech took four hours to deliver and was published as a separate pamphlet in 1609.' [J.H. Baker in ODNB]. A-C4, D2), table alphabétique des titres, demi-percaline grise Bradel (reliure du XIXe siècle). Impression rouennaise sortie des presses de Martin Le Mesgissier, seule dynastie d'imprimeurs normands autorisée à imprimer les ordonnances, édits, lettres patentes, déclarations, arrêts et tous les livres publiés par les cours de Parlement et des Aides et par la Chambre des comptes de Normandie. La librairie était située dans l'intérieur du Palais de Justice. Les 39 articles de l'édit sur l'administration de la justice en Normandie donné à Fontainebleau en décembre 1540 furent imprimés par Le Mesgissier l'année de leur proclamation puis réimprimés sous Henri IV en guise de rappel sous le titre Autres ordonnances tandis qu'un autre acte royal concernant la Normandie pour la vente en hérédité des officiers de jaulgeurs, mesureurs et visiteurs de tonneaux, venait d'être proclamé en 1605 et imprimé par la même maison. Diesem ist es ein Leichtes, alle Argumente von der natürlichen und nun gar erst sittlichen Superiorität des Menschen zu widerlegen. Hierzu einige teils possenhaft humoristische, teils drastische Exempel vom Missbrauch der Beichte, Wie ein Capellan machte, das ein schwanger Weib sich zum Fenster herab stürzte etc. Bleibt Bruder Anselm ein letztes Argument: Gott habe in Jesus menschliche (und nicht irgendeine tierische) Gestalt angenommen und dadurch das menschliche Geschlecht in besonderer Weise ausgezeichnet.
