Lvgdvni: Pillehotte, 1587. I am limited to 12 photos on eBay, but I have many more photos on my website...just ask. Pierre Gregoire was a 16th-century French philosopher who, without question, is best remembered for his high controversial book 'Syntaxes Artis Mirabilis'. This book was written as a thesaurus of mathematics and astrology studies as well as qualities of God; however, Gregoire included an abundance of information on magic and demonology. Because of this, it was placed on the Index of Prohibited Books. This fourth volume includes information on a number martyrs including - Polycarp, Saint Agnes, Catherine of Alexandria, Saint Ambrose, Saint Cyprian, Saint Pantaleon, Platon of Ancyra; lives of Democritus and Demosthenes, beliefs surrounding metempsychosis, execution of miracles, the differences between good and bad angels, and much more!

L'ouvrage est parfois attribué à Pierre Pélisson. in the county of Essex, specifically the Hundred of Rochford, for a lay subsidy granted by Parliament for Charles I "Beinge the last of Five Subsidies", addressed to the Lord Treasurer, the Barons of the Exchequer Court, and other officials, stating that states that Deodatus Staverton is assessed within the parish of Eastwood, where he and his family have lived for more than a year, at £10 in goods, "as it doth appere, by the extreact and Roll of the Assessment, and Rates of the said Hundred, which is certified and remaineth in his Majesties Exchequer" and has paid accordingly, bearing the wafer seal of Robert Rich in the left margin, also signed by Arthur HERRYS (c.1587-1632, of Creeksea Place and Woodham Mortimer, Essex), with a further annotation at the base with the county name, hundred, place, name of person taxed and sum, 1 side folio., no place, 1st May Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick (1587-1658). Well known as Lord High Admiral on the Parliamentary side in later years (1642-45 and 1648-49), and as a long standing supporter of colonial activities in North America. The present document illustrates his activities in Essex as Joint Lord Lieutenant of Essex. Interestingly, although this document certified that a subsidy payment has been made, Rich was among those who refused to subscribe to the forced loan of 1626 and to pay ship money.

Agostino CARRACCI (Bologna 1557 - Parma 1602)
[Click Below for Full Description]
