Mr Watkins got drunk and had to be carried home
[Finchley: Writers' Forum,], 1964. A party piece by Jeff Nuttall from an idea by William Burroughs. Octavo (205 x 165 mm). Pictorial paper wrappers, rear wrapper slightly shorter, wire-stitched mimeographed typescript printed on light blue and yellow paper on one side only. Wrappers very faintly rubbed, small nick to centre of backstrip. An excellent copy. First edition, first impression, one of approximately 50 copies hand-printed by the author. Jeff Nuttall performed his cut-up piece at a party at his home in north London on 1 February 1964, in front of an audience which included concrete poet Bob Cobbing and painter Islwyn Watkins, after whom the work takes its title. A bright copy of this scarce and fragile publication.
