Colour frontispiece + full page colour illustration + full page Japanese colophon colour illustration + all but one opening with coloured illustration. 185x155mm Crepe paper full page illustration of the dog, lower cover cherry blossoms and a fan (some pale foxing and along one hinge some glue show through). Frontis of a Japanese scene + titlepage with illustration of Coodles + Preface to verso +48pp +colophon to inside of cover ALL pages double folded to the fore-edge in the Japanese manner and entire book printed on CREPE PAPER. *Rare story of an unusal dog and although published in the Japanese style the TEXT is ENGLISH. It takes place in New England, however from the preface it is clear that the author lived in Japan at the time of publication and was remembering the dog of his New England days. A really scarce book because it was co-published by an English publisher a copy had, by law, to be held by the 3 English copyright libraries (Oxford, Cambridge, London) and the Edinburgh Scottish copyright library. In addition only Aberdeen has a copy.
