Sacramento: State Office, A.J. Johnston, 1895. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Original black hardcover boards. No dust jacket. Gilt title on spine. First printing of first edition, with original silver print frontispiece photo tipped in showing corona of the sun in four phases, plus ten other illustrations, some folding, and including a map of the region near the eclipse station. Book is clean, crisp, and tightly bound. Front board has a small patch of dullness at corner. Otherwise the book is in excellent condition. It was printed by the authority of the regents of the University of California; the observation expedition was funded by Mrs. Phebe Hearst. 8vo. 126 pp. plus an ad.
