London: T. Becket, 1776. Leather Bound. Fair. xv, iii, 416 p. 22 cm. Full leather. Hinges tender. Worn, especially edges and corners. Label for Alexander Oliphant Petrie on front pastedown. Inscription on front free from 1808. Lacks 5 folding plates. Damp stains to title page up to viii. Some other spots and thumbing throughout. Tear in bottom of pp. 259-261. Previous owner may have been the Alexander Oliphant Petrie (d. 1870) who in 1840 was appointed President of the Police Village of Belleville. He had previously been sentenced to death for highway robbery but was granted amnesty. Title continues: "Being A System of Mineralogy in General, and of all the Arts arising from this Science. To the great Improvement of Manufactures, And the most capital Branches of Trade and Commerce, Theoretical and Practical. In Two Parts".
