Report on the Cultivation and Preparation of Tobacco in India with an appended Manual on the Practical Operations Connected with the Cultivation, &c. of Tobacco in Hungary.
India Museum, India Office., London. 1871 - Bound together with: Tobacco in India. Report on the Production of Tobacco in India. By J.E. O'Connor, 1874; Reports on the Cultivation and Manufacture of Tobacco in France. [c.1881]; Memorandum on Madras Tobacco (includes 5 pages summarising reports in Madras on tobacco samples and appendices of correspondence) by B.J. Rose (1890). The volume concludes with a one page note for the Vienna Exhibition, 1873: Tobacco and its Preparation for use by A. Shakespear; and a four page report on a conference on tobacco held in India in 1886. A handwritten signed letter from Dr. Forbes Watson to B.J. Rose dated 13th June 1890 loosely inserted on front free endpaper. Three black and white plates, various pagination, these reports have been assembled in a somewhat haphazard manner within half calf binding with marbled paper covered boards, binding shows some wear with loss at extremities, the reports are preceded by a number of black lined sheets of paper, some browning and foxing, red crayon marking on few internal leaves, folio.
