London: Published by the Booksellers 1839 - VG HB in marbled boards with silk headbands, half-bound in light tan leather. 5 raised bands on spine with gilt lines and gilt title on black leather panel. One corner bumped, and 2 tiny holes at base of spine. Small piece of leather (max 15mm x 5mm) missing at base of front cover. Small, interesting bookplate inside front cover. 572pp plus 160pp Horticultural Register. B/w illus throughout, plus several hand-coloured plates: col frontis shows Seckle Pear and St Germain de Martin Pear. Pages rather browned with age, and some grubby fingermarks on first few pages, but binding very tight. An attractive volume with no inscriptions. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
