London: Printed for H. Herringman, 1686, 1686. Fifth edition, the first was published in 1665. Wing D-2293; NCBEL II, 442; Sabin 20979. Binding rubbed, with some minor splits in the calf; text a little dust soiled (particularly the title and final leaf); very good copy, with wide margins.. 4to, modern brown half calf and marbled boards. Final leaf of text (I4) is a list of other plays published by Herringman. Dryden's popular and often reprinted play about Montezuma, Cortez, Pizarro, Vasquez, and the Spanish conquest of Mexico. Contemporary or early notes on the title-page and final leaf.
