Didot Jr., 1774.First edition and a book of very considerable rarity. WorldCat lists only two copies in American libraries. Peyrilhe (1735-1804), "was the first to attempt an experimental study to determine the nature of cancer. He injected fluid from human mammary cancer into a dog…Peyrilhe recognized for the first time the essential unity of the many different forms of cancer."-Garrison-Morton 2608. He advocated surgical treatment in mammary cancer, removal of the axillary notes and even of the pectoralis major.Fine copy with the bookplate of "Petri Vidal, Doct. Med. Monsp."
