Diary of a rock 'n' roll star
1974 REPRINTED VERSION WITH BROWNING TO THE PAGES; ALL IN ONE PIECE AND NO WRITING.ReviewIan Hunter writes about touring the USA as lead singer for the English rock band Mott the Hoople in the early seventies. This book isn't about the glitz and the glamour, but about the people - the band members, the road crew, the managers and promotors, the bus drivers and the cleaners, and all the others he met along the way.He tells it like it is: the dirty hotels, the long dusty roads, eating in roadside diners, searching in pawnshops for guitars, sleeping when you can, and playing the gigs at night. His observations and humour make this an enjoyable, as well as an informative book. If you're a Hunter or Mott fan, this book is a must. But even if you're not, it's well worth the read.Ian Hunter is still writing songs and touring today at 71, nearly forty years after he wrote this. He is still relevant, and his performances rate as some of the best around. The title says it all - Diary of a Rock 'n' Roll Star.
