The Complete Fly Fisherman: The Notes and Letters of Theodore Gordon. {Inscribed by John McDonald and Signed by the Book's Artist, Robert Ball}.
- New York. Charles Scribner's Sons. 1947. First Edition. Inscribed and signed by John McDonald, and also signed by Robert Ball, the book's illustrator. Thick 8vo. (9 x 7). 556 pp. plus appendix. Illustrated by Robert Ball. A seminal book in the fly fisherman's collection. It's a rare occurrence to have this book inscribed by the author and also signed by the illustrator, Robert Ball. Robert Ball's elaborate drawings for the book, particularly the end sheets and dust jacket, are sparkling. This is only the second copy I have seen in 25 years with both signatures present. The book is bound in green cloth with silver titles and decorations. Illustrated end papers. Pictorial dust jacket. A nice book. Very good with a touch of edge wear in a fine dust jacket. [Attributes: Signed Copy]
