London: Cassell and Company, Ltd, 1920 - Octavo. Original green cloth, gilt lettered spine, lettered and with the badge of the Middlesex Regiment in dark green on front cover. With the dust jacket. Pale staining at foot of back cover, jacket a little soiled and with a few creases and tears to back panel. A very good copy. Portrait frontispiece of the author, 7 plates from photographs. First edition, first impression. "Ward was colonel of the 25th Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. A contentious but important book, violently anti-Bolshevik but also highly critical of American and Japanese policy in Siberia" (Lengel). Very scarce in the dust jacket. Falls p. 236; Lengel 911.
