LACKING title page, with title/copyright information based on the title above the first page of text and information on the dedication page. This page also includes a date of 1734. (2), 94, (2), with the title leaf MISSING. Marbled boards with calf leather spine and corners. Dull pink/orange endpapers. As Sabin notes, 'The first Hebrew Grammar published in America. The author was an Italian Jew, who emigrated to America about 1720. In 1722, he was appointed Hebrew Instructor in Harvard University, and occupied this position for forty years,' (Sabin 49979). An important work in the printing history of America. FAIR/GOOD condition, ex-theological institution. Lacking the aforementioned title leaf. Institution stamps on the dedication page. Minor markings to the endpapers and inside covers, with a bookseller catalog description glued to the inside cover. Leather rather scuffed and worn, with general fading, minor scuffing and soiling to the boards. Extremities bumped. Heavy dotted soiling to the edges of the last leaf, minor to the dedication page, with scattered minor foxing and staining throughout. A few stray names and notes in the book. Several pages with corners missing. Small hole in the upper corner of page one. Leaf 63/64 cropped short along the fore edge margin, with minor loss of Hebrew text along the edge of page 63.
