Octavo; light gray cloth, with titling and pictorial elements stamped in red on spine and front panel; dark blue topstain; dustjacket; 305pp, [5] ads. Very subtle fading to cloth along upper and lower board edges, else Fine. Dustjacket has a short closed tear along lower front joint, with a few tiny tears along upper edge of rear panel; Near Fine. The author's rare first book, in which the members of a dope ring (despite all precautions) are being systematically killed of by highly irregular methods. Originally published in the U.K. in 1927 under the title "Who?", this is the first of three novels written by Leonard Worswick Clyde under the pseudonym "Peter Baron." Rare in dustjacket.
