Whittington Press 1985 - 19x27cm, [39pp]. With coloured title page engraving and forty other wood engravings printed in black by Miriam Macgregor. Copy xix of xxxv (335) bound in quarter green leather over paper-covered decorative boards printed with a repeating pattern of engravings in two colours, gilt title to spine, t.e.g., together with a separate portfolio in quarter green buckram and green paper over boards containing separate proofs of ten of the engravings, each initialed 'MM' in pencil, all in a green paper-covered slipcase with green cloth edges and a paper title-label to the top edge. A brief history of the English allotment system, with poems interleaved and printed in green. An unusual format for Whittington - oblong octavo - with a generous set of typically fine and superbly printed Miriam Macgregor wood engravings. Near Fine (slight sun-darkening to the exposed spine leather) with a Near Fine (some light marks to front and back boards) portfolio in a Very Good (some sun-darkening to the boards near the open edge) slipcase.
