Voluptes de Paris
Paris: Paris Publications, 1935. First edition. Very good; the plastic rings that served as a binding are missing, hence loose pages. Some pages showing some slight edgewear, toning, but overall a sturdy, well preserved copy. Brassai's most elusive publication. There were two editions of this title; while priority is by no means certain, in the text of the exhibition catalog "Brassai: The Eye of Paris," curator Anne Tucker has the first edition as having 48 pages and 46 halftone reproductions, as does this copy. Tucker has the edition with 38 halftones as the second. While certainly a candidate for restoration, more than servicable as it presently stands, and of course excessively rare.
