Paris: Black Sun Press, 1928 Cream colored wraps encased in original silver chemise and silver slipcase. Glassine dustjacket over wraps is worn at front edge otherwise complete. Frontis and eight full page illustrations and two illustrations in text by Alastair (Baron Hans Henning Voigt) all present. Three page Foreword by publisher Harry Crosby. This is Exemplaire (copy) number 40 of 100 numbered copies on Hollande Van Gelder Zonen paper. Colophon states there were 13 additional copies, 9 lettered A to I and four numbered I to IV. Small Errata slip bound in at colophon. Included is a rare postcard sized Black Sun Press Editions Narcisse advertisement or prospectus in red and black listing the five books available, including this one, and three others "in preparation". Attractive book plate of Francis E. Bliss on inside of front wrap. Slipcase is worn and split at top and bottom and has been repaired with tape on the top. Chemise slightly rubbed. Four illustration tissues missing. Book is fine.
