Smith, Elder & Co. London 1903 - The Works of Arthur Conan Doyle. 12 Volumes complete. Limited numbered edition of 1000 copies, Signed by Doyle. The first volume "The White Company" is signed by the Author. 510 sets were bound by Smith, Elder & Company, the remaining copies were passed to John Murray and were reissued with new title-pages dated 1903 in and after 1917. The author consider this edition to be his best works; he revised parts and added notes with new introductions. This English edition has the distinction of having to illustrations in each volume rather than one. Bound in 3/4 Red Morocco bindings by Bayntun with five raised bands. Top edge gold gilt. A very fine set. No rubbing to leather or cloth. No bumped corners to book.
