Pride & Prejudice. A novel.
London: Chapman & Hall, 1870 - Octavo. Original yellow paper-covered boards, titles to spine and front cover black and red, illustration to spine and front board in yellow, blue, red, and black. Faint ownership signature to title page dated 1870, hand-written page tipped-in to front free endpaper, containing a quotation from Lockhart's Life of Scott. Spine rolled, spine ends, tips and joints slightly worn, some mild foxing to contents, a few gatherings a little loose but still holding firm. An excellent, bright copy. The front cover features an illustration of Lydia Bennett at the Brighton Camp. First Yellowback edition, Volume V in the Austen series. Scarce. Gilson E35.
