The Cries of London, for the information of Little Country Folks. Embellished with sixteen neatly-coloured engravings. Price Six-pence.
32 Pages, printed on one side only, so 16 printed pages. Illustrated with a hand-coloured engraved frontispiece, hand-coloured vignette on title, and 14 hand-coloured engravings, all of 'cries.' Original wrappers with a cut of a fan seller and her helper to the upper panel. Covers a little dust-soiled; else a very good copy. On four of the blank rectos and versos a previous owner has drawn in pencil additional 'cries.' These show a newspaper seller, a flower seller, an oyster seller, and a seller of fine sand. These are attractive and competently drawn and may well be copied from another book of cries.
