Description: (6¾ × 4¼ in): [8], 280 p. Full contemporary reverse-calf, later morocco title-label. · Register: 8: A^4 B-S^8 T^4. · Condition: Round dark spot on top board, some loss of leather at corners. Initial blank present in this copy. · Comments: First edition. There are two settings of the title-page; in the other, the last line reads "Lincolns-Inn, Gent." Lambarde completed his treatise on the history of the courts of England, 'Archeion', by 1591 and it circulated extensively in manuscript copies. One of those copies eventually reached the possession of a printer, Daniel Frere, who published it in this edition.
