FIRST EDITION 1822, 4to, approximately 305 x 245 mm, 12 x 9½ inches, 6 engraved plates, pages: [2], ix, [1], 293, [1], 294 - 301, bound in mordern half dark blue morocco over marbled sides, gilt dividing lines, raised bands to spine, gilt rules, small gilt motif in 4 compartments, gilt lettering, fore and lower edges not trimmed, new marbled endpapers matching covers, small tipped in insert with directions to binder present. Very small dark stains to lower edge of title page, some pale browning to top and inner margin of a few pages, occasionally on text, pale brown offsetting opposite plates, a few tiny 1 or 2 letter ink corrections, very occasional small pale brown margin mark. A very good tight sturdy copy. Laid in is an A5 original advertising leaflet of 4 pages, 1 listing other works by the author, 2 promoting The Rurual Improver. Aslin, Books on Agriculture, page 104.
