Mitchill Manhasset L.I. 1875; original publisher's dark green cloth binding, decoratively gilt titles on cover; some edge, tips wear to binding; spine cloth professionally renewed in a sympathetic style; some darkening to sheets, mostly even; a few leaves with some discoloration at edge; some edge wear, occasional spotting to maps; maps on sheets 122- 125 Port Washington Manhasset Roslyn group, with margins repaired, renewed, not affecting maps; maps at 188 -189 small Southampton map & small village map of East Hampton, Amagansett darkened, browned as if from an old laid-in item, which has left much spottiness and staining, map still legible, perhaps could be cleaned; last 4 pages with narrow 1/2" hole at bottom margins; long front map with unobtrusive ½" rub in ocean area, not in a physical land feature; with a custom-made protective slipcase for the atlas, marbled-paper covered box sides, dark blue calf leather spine, red and green title-labels, gilt; little wear and rubbing to the slipcase, very good condition and very good protection for the atlas; contents in good to very good condition overall, and a good Long Island historical reference for genealogy, land ownership and development.. First Edition. Hard Cover in Custom Slipcase. Good.
