Haarlem: Limited Editions Club, 1930. Hardcover. The front hinge has some splitting to the paper, a fate common to this heavy book, but the binding is tight. Mild sunning to the spine, less than normally encountered but still noticeable, with a tiny tear to the head. The yellow slipcase is lightly soiled and complete. Near Fine in a Good or better slipcase. Tall quarto (8" x 12") bound in full blue linen, gold-stamped. The translation of Alexander Pope with an introduction by Carl Van Doren. Printed by Joh. Enschede in Holland with type hand-set in Romanee, its first use, and designed by Jan van Krimpen. Copy #7 of 1500 SIGNED by the designer on the colophon page. Low limitation numbers are quite uncommon for Limited Edition Club volumes, especially from the early years, as is the Monthly Letter, which is laid in.
