Jehovah
New York: E.P. Dutton. (1920). First. First edition. Soiling to the edges of the boards, a very good copy in a lightly chipped, very good dustwrapper with one internally repaired fold. Briefly Inscribed by the author in the year of publication. An epic poem about the struggle between the Israelites and the Kenites in the days of David. The Tuscaloosa, Alabama-born Wood was an attorney and judge in Alabama before being dismissed for jailing the state Lieutenant Governor for contempt. He then bought a one-way ticket to New York in order to enter the literary life. He went on to write at least ten volumes of poetry, novels, and guidebooks to writing. This early title, his third, is scarce, especially in jacket or signed. .
