Bound in period calfskin with gold gilt tooling and stamping of the spine and boards. 5 raised bands on the spine. Inside edges of front and back boards are tooled in gold. Page fore-edges are gold. Intricate engraved Title Pages demarcate each book of the text. Good to Very Good. Boards and spine show rubbing marks, the occasional scratch and dent, edges rubbed and slightly chipped, front board shows a closed split at the outer hinge though the board and binding remain strong, minor foxing of the first several pages, otherwise the text and illustrations are clean and unmarked, the binding remains strong and tight, and the boards unique design remains bright, colorful, and distinct.
