Taylor & Skinner's Survey and Maps of the Roads of North Britain, or Scotland
Published for the Authors as the Act directs the 20th March, 1776 & Sold by D. Wilson and G. Nicol, Strand (& others). Engraved title with dedication to John Duke of Argyll, Commander in Chief of His Majestys Forces in North Britain, double sided index leaf, a double-page general map of the roads of Scotland, and 61 double sided engraved road maps on 31 leaves. Each road map 20 x 8 1/2 inches. The whole folded 4 times to 8vo (8 3/4 x 5 inches) for ease of carrying whilst travelling. The whole clean and in excellent condition with no tears. Contemporary full polished tan calf with green lettering piece "Scots Roads". Joints cracked but firm, some chipping at headband and some scuffing to the boards but overall pleasing. A very good example of this survey often found in poor condition.
