Giovanni Antonio Rizzi-Zannoni (1736-1814) was an important Italian cartographer whose most notable work was done in Paris after being imprisoned there during the Seven Years War. Rizzi-Zannoni's efforts culminated in his great Atlante Geografico del Regno di Napoli published in 1812, shortly before his death. The present atlas contains two hemispheric maps, one of Asia and Europe and the other of the Americas followed by maps of the continents and lastly detailed maps of the countries of Europe. Early manuscript notes on the front fly-leaf and first blank, ex-libris of Claude Broquisse on the front fly-leaf. [Bookseller: Ursus Rare Books] ![]()
