Gangs and Counter-gangs
London: Barrie and Rockliff, 1960-01-01 London: Barrie and Rockliff, 1960. 211 p. First edition, first printing. Near fine condition hardcover in Good+ dust jacket. Clean pages. Not ex-library! Foxing to top edge, light shelf wear. Jacket spine panel faded, missing little chips at head and tail, small tear and crease to top of front panel, price intact. Quite scarce in the original jacket. Major (now General) Frank Kitson's account of counterinsurgency campaigns in Kenya is a classic of modern military strategy. It's often popularly referenced for its advocacy of "false flag" tactics: "counter-" and "pseudo-" gangs, etc.
