Youthful Diligence and Future Greatness
London - T. Nelson and Sons, 1876 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. A vintage guide to children's behaviour and character-forming. William King Tweedie (18031863) was a Free Church of Scotland minister and writer. Of the Free Church leaders of his day, Tweedie has been one of the most overlooked. A good preacher, he suffered by comparison with more brilliant contemporaries. As a writer he published much, but nothing that was considered to be profound or of lasting worth. With coloured frontispiece and numerous black-and-white engraved plates throughout. Condition: In a full calf binding. Externally smart, though with some slight wear to the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Prize bookplate to front pastedown. Pages are very bright and clean. Overall: VERY GOOD with a very good indeed interior..
