The Camera Fiend.
London, T. Fisher Unwin. 1911. First Edition. 8vo. 352pp. Publisher's bottle green cloth titled in gilt to spine and white to front board. Cloth clean, some wear to extremities and bumping to spine ends, front inner hinge starting with an old glue stain to the gutter. Some light foxing notable to prelims, nevertheless a solid copy. A bizarre piece of crossover fiction where a man of dubious mental stability attempts to capture photographs of the soul leaving the body by constructing a camera that similtaneously shoots the subject as it takes a photograph, ideally these should be issued to anyone who desires to photograph Big Brother contestants. Ernest William Hornung (1866 – 1921), known as Willie, was an English author and brother-in-law of Arthur Conan Doyle, most famous for writing the Raffles series of novels about a Gentleman thief in late Victorian London.
