New full leather blind tooled period binding with gilt lettering on spine by master binder Pat Bruno.. Preliminary pages show wear otherwise very good +. 4to. [24], 166 pp. [26], 330 pp. 2 volumes in 1. 4 full page illustrations . Numerous head pieces and initials. Volume 1 contains Notes and Observations upon some Passages of Scripture. Volume 2 contains Gregorii Posthuma, or Certain learned Tracts Wriiten by John Gregory, Together with a Short Account of the AUTHOR'S LIFE and ELEGIES on his much-lamented DEATH. The 8 tracts all have separate title pages except the first. The titles of the 8 tracts are: I. A Discourse of the LXX Interpreters; The Place and Manner of their Interpretation. II. A discourse declaring what Time the Nicene Creed began to be sung in the Church. III. A Sermon Upon the Resurrection. IV. A Disproof of Him. V. Episcopus Puerorum in Die Innocentium. VI. De Aeris & epochis; shewing the Several Accounts of Time among all Nation, from the Creation to the present Age. VII. The Assyrian Monarchy, being a Description of its Rise and Fall. VIII. The Description and Use of the Terrestial Globe. All the tracts were printed by A. Clark for T. Williams, and are to be sold at the Bible in Little Britain. All are dated 1671.
