Chess is a kind of war, and has been used as a study for strategy in war and business for hundreds of years. The collection of words used in this book are words repeatedly found in the writing of Sun Tzu in The Art of War. They are words having to do with how one should act or be in war: irresistible, elusive, adaptable, inscrutable, insistent, mysterious, evasive, relentless, ubiquitous, resilient, flexible. "Some Chinese writings say that Sun Tzu invented chess to teach military strategy, but in fact it is much older with probable origins on the Indian continent several thousand years ago.
