FIRST EDITION 1863, EXTRA ILLUSTRATED WITH 18 PLATES, 8vo, 245 x 150 mm, 9½ x 6 inches, 9 large text illustrations of various sizes, 48 pages, bound in parchment backed grey boards, gilt lettered black morocco spine label, original blue printed paper wraps bound in at front and rear. Extra illustrated with 18 mounted etchings by Cruikshank, 3 almost full page, the others various sizes, all with plain paper guard, all on subjects involving ghosts, devils, hobgoblins etc. Tiny split to bottom of upper hinge, blue paper upper cover very slightly soiled, very light crease to upper corner of first few pages, 3 extra plates faintly foxed in margin, final plate slight browned and foxed at inner margin.
