Original white illustrated wraps w/original unmarked envelope, 8pp, Limited Edition of 236/300, (260 were for sale), one signature string sl. loose else NF, Cover illustration by Cocteau-with a line-cut drawing; includes torn pencil letter to author from anon. writer congratulating him on winning Nobel Prize etc. This pamphlet represents the first appearance of this one-act play that later was included in Men Without Women. Hemingway claimed that in one day in Madrid he shut himself up in his hotel room and wrote "The Killers, " "Ten Little Indians, " and "Today is Friday." "'I was in love and the girl was in Bologna and I couldn't sleep anyway, so why not write, ' he explained years later".
