Journal of Indian Art, London, 1906, Hardcover, Book Condition: Very Good; 14.5 x 11 Hardback in Very Good condition. Rebound in red half-leather. Slight edgewear. 3 color and 2 black and white plates are photocopies. 5 color and 3 black and white plates have tape-repaired tears.Illustrated by 18 color plates 82 black and white; GWO 1827. Uncommon. O'Bannon calls it, "One of the great rug books." Examples include 16th-19th century rugs from Afghanistan, Mughal India and East Turkestan Carpets. Shows a fabulous 10"x29" foldout color plate of the Girdler Carpet from 1634. The "Yarkand" examples (1 color, 15 black and white) are especially notable.; 5; 212 pp.
