London: The Cresset Press Ltd., 1938 - Octavo. Original black and white cloth, titles to spine gilt on blue ground. With the dust jacket. Spine rolled and tanned, boards lightly rubbed and spotted, light spotting to endpapers. A very good copy in the rubbed, spotted, creased and chipped proof jacket. First edition, first impression. Inscribed by the author on the verso of the half-title, "To W. G. Tucker, whose friendship & good advice has been helpful to me on so many occasions, Nicolas Bentley". Tipped-in on the front pastedown is a typed and signed letter from Bentley to Tucker thanking him for "help in my rabbit dilemma" and suggesting that his son may enjoy the book. Also included is a proof copy of the novel with some pencilled annotations by the author. [Attributes: First Edition]
