Meteorography, or The Perpetual Weather Almanac
Edinburgh: R. S. Michie and John Sutherland, 1841. Hardcover. Very good. Squareish 12mo. Contemporary dark brown sand-grain victorian cloth, title in gilt on the upper board. Errata slip present before the first page of text. Text is followed by handcolored full page plates of the different appearance of the sky (presumably from Scotland) as different indices of the state of the ensuing weather. The clouds are divided into three main categories then further subdivided. Of the 46 handcolored plates called for, numbers 22 and 23 are duplicated but 32 has been skipped, giving a total of 47 plates. Nearly invisibly rebacked at an early date, occasional soil and staining else a very good copy and quite scarce. Rare. Only 4 copies located worldwide.
