World Map- Eastern Hemisphere): Orbis Veteribus Noti Tabula Nova Auctore Guillelmo DeL'Isle.
Covens & Mortier, Amsterdam 1730 - VG, scarce, hand colored on heavy paper. A small stain at right upper corner at far edge of a generous margin. Minimal chipping at upper and right edges. Lower centerfold tear barely noticeable and repaired verso with archival tape. A handsome map of the eastern hemisphere, with just the shell of western Australia, Madagascar under its old name (Menuthias Island), after De L'Isle. The date is approximate, as the combined house of Covens and Mortier began about 1721, and was a prominent force in Dutch mapmaking. The image is a globe of 18.5 inches in diameter.
