Rare ! - Rudolph Snellius (Rudolph Snel van Royen; Oudewater, 5 October 1546 - Leiden, 2 March 1613) was a Dutch linguist and mathematician who held appointments at the University of Marburg and the University of Leiden. - - Cornelius Valerius (Kornelis Wouters oder Walthers), geb. 1512 in Oudewater bei Utrecht, gest. 11. August 1578, studierte in Löwen, war dann Professor der lateinischen Sprache in Utrecht und Löwen, dort auch Pfarrer. Er hat sich besonders um eine elegantere Darstellung der Logik im Sinne des Humanismus bemüht, daneben auch um Rhetorik, Physik und Ethik. - - Rudolph Göckel or Rudolf Goclenius (the Older) (1 March 1547 - 8 June 1628) was a German scholastic philosopher, credited with inventing the term psychology (1590). In his Lexicon philosophicum (1613) he used the term ontology coined by Jacob Lorhard in his Ogdooas Scholastica (1606).
