Finely bound by The Chelsea Bindery in black morocco, titles to spine gilt, two raised bands, single rule to boards, twin rule to turn-ins, marbled endpapers, gilt edges. Couple of minor spots, an excellent copy in a fine binding. First edition, twelfth impression. With the author's signed presentation inscription on the half-title,"inscribed (with pleasure) for Mary Bland by T. S. Eliot 19.ix.49." An interesting association copy; Mary Bland was Eliot's secretary and the wife of David Bland one of the directors at Faber and Faber.
