Companie of Stationers, 1608, London - "Set forth and allowed to be sung in all Churches, of all the People together before and after Morning and Evening prayer: as also before and after Sermons, and moreover in private Houses, for their godly solace and comfort, laying apart all ungody Songs and Ballads, which tend onely to the nourishment of vice and corrupting of Youth." Woodcut emblem to the centre of the title page. The first 9 pages are not numbered, but are all present. They are then paginated 2 - 91 (91 was incorrectly numbered 93). There are then a further 9 unpaginated pages. The musical notation accompanying each psalm is printed from a woodclock. The final 3 leaves have some suffered some loss affecting up to 5 lines of text. Contemporary name on rear of title page and contemporary annotations to margin of one of the last pages. Despite these faults the item is in a very good state of preservation. Photographs available on request. [Attributes: Soft Cover]
