ALL THE KING'S MEN NY: Harcourt Brace & Co., (1946) - First Edition of the Pulitzer Prize-winning modern literary classic, a highspot of modern literature. The landmark novel, more than loosely based on the career of famed Louisiana governor Huey Long, was the basis for the 1949 Academy Award-winning film (which took Oscars for Best Picture, and for actors Broderick Crawford and Mercedes McCambridge). A new film adaptation opened late in 2005, starred Sean Penn, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, James Gandolfini and Anthony Hopkins. First Editions of this scarce title are rare indeed, and a copy of this extraordinary quality would be hard to beat. A lovely, perfectly fine copy in an extremely close to fine dust jacket, bright, crisp, non-price-clipped, and with the most miniscule, barely noticeable, shallow chipping -- hardly discernable -- and only to the top fold of the front panel. All The King's Men lists at #36 on the Random House/Modern Library 100 Best Books of the Century. It is highly unlikely a finer copy can be found.
