John Lane The Bodley Heard, London - First British Edition 1895 - A very good square and tight hardcover copy. The very scarce First English Edition. 163 pages of text with 164 page blank. Imprint on verso, of T. and A. Constable, Edinburgh. Purple cloth with white divice and gold lettring on spine: white design by Beardsley and lettering on front cover; white key divice on back cover; white end papers; uncut edges; catalogues of Keynote series (8 pp.), and Belles Lettres for 1895 (16 pp.) bound in at end. Front board of Purple cloth has faded and mottled but still predominatly purple. Back board is 95% still purple. Spine is dark with chip to top edge of spine with two small nicks to cloth at bottom of spine. Very mild and light rubbing to top two corners. Hinges are very sound. Gold gilt lettering to spine is still bright. Queen's Quorum - 19.
