Circulated in manuscript and published without his consent and with alterations and the addition of two important chapters (hoofdstukken) and part of another by Johan de Witt, 1662. Republished, enlarged and revised 1669 under title "Aanwysing der heilsame politike gronden en maximen van de republike van Holland," and in French as memoires de Jean de Witt." cf. The verso of the half-title bears a portrait of Johan de Witt. Apparently printed by John Darby; the work is listed in an advertisement for 'Books printed by J.
