CamerArt, Inc., Tokyo 1961 - Intense B&W photos utilize the human form as medium and a means of expression captured with the camera. SCARCE book. Presumed FIRST edition in beautiful condition. SIGNED BY ARTIST in Japanese and English in silver pen on black pastedowns. Book opens Western style (on right), yet most text is in Japanese. Includes English booklet of poetry and essay, presumed translation, in Very Good condition. Poetry by Taro Yamamoto. Also included is what appears to be the original gray obi (wrapper) with Japanese text; this is torn halfway across at one fold and is generally worn. Yellow paper over boards is clean and has English title on front; spine ends are lightly bumped but still firm and mostly square; corners are sharp. Binding is secure. Illustrated DJ looks attractive behind mylar, and is backed with archival paper; under mylar is some light scuffing; 1/2" chip from head of spine expands to 1"x1" on back and closed tear on front; light chipping at tail of spine, corners and some edges.
