New York: Smith and Haas. 1935. First. First edition. Rubbing to the spine lettering, very good in an attractive, very good first issue dustwrapper with a modest chip at the crown, and very slight tanning to the spine. Faulkner's tale of barnstorm aviation, a pursuit which took his brother Dean's life a few months after the book was published. The novel was the basis for the 1958 Douglas Sirk film The Tarnished Angels featuring Rock Hudson, Robert Stack, and Dorothy Malone. A nicer than usual copy. .
