Orville Wright signed envelope of the 33rd anniversary of the First Flight at Kitty Hawk, includes a piece of fabric from the Wright Flyer
Signed envelope "Orville Wright" in the lower left of an "Air Mail" envelope 7.25" x 3.75", with four air mail stamps on it, post marked "Kitty Hawk, N.C. Dec 17 1936", showing four cancellations with that date, with other cancellations on the verso. A 1" square piece of fabric from the original "Wright Flyer" flown on December 17, 1903 is mounted on the display, overall framed archives measures 22" x 19". Colorful and historic! The matte used is an oversized photograph of that famous first flight at Kitty Hawk. Included is provenance that reads: "The relic bears a blue ink notation reading "Fabric from Wright Brothers Kitty Hawk Harvey D. Geyer 3/2/51'. Period typing on the sheet above reads: 'All of the fabric for covering the original Kitty Hawk plane was muslin, purchased from Hunter & Hardy Dry Goods Store E. Third Street, Dayton Ohio, and known as 'Pride of the West' muslin'". In late 1926, early 1927, Orville Wright refurbished the Wright Flyer in preparation
