London, England: J.M. Dent and Sons Ltd., 1915. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Good . Lucy Kemp-Welch. Green buckram. Gilt edges on top, spine and front cover with gilt-embossed image of two horses. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. No. 61 of 600 limited edition copies numbered and signed by illustrator Lucy Kemp-Welch. All thirty full-colour tipped-in plates are present. Black and white line drawings throughout. Text is clean with only a few smudges or signs of foxing. Centre hinge cracked at pg. 97. Minor smudging to endpapers. Significant rubbing and fading to covers giving a blotchy appearance on front and part of back. A few dark smudges to back cover. Lucy Kemp-Welch (1869-1958) was a British painter who specialized in painting working horses.
